VBS

We're in the Outback for VBS this year. Chace is learning all about crocodiles and platypuses among other things. Weather has obliged us by being dry and hot, feels like the Outback! Here the kids are pretending to be train robbers in their scarves and playing outside. They had 4 huge bouncy things for the older kids, and 2 for the little ones. Alana is on the swing next to the ark. It has been a very busy week so far.

Pump it

Don't feel like dancing

One of the kids favorite movies is Flushed Away, or as Alana calls it "minnie mouse."
The slugs are the adults favorite parts. We made more clay slugs, then I put on the music video clips. The kids danced and danced, so I had a ton of video to choose from. These are two of my favorite. Chace has a lot of different dance moves now.

Playing with kittens

We went and visited the kittens again this week. Amazing how much they grew in such a short time. When one of the kittens started nibbling on Alana's toes, she went and put her shoes back on! Smart girl!

Various photos from the week

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.  Haven't done too much this week, except visit very cute, just weaned kittens.  Of course I forgot to take a picture.  It was really hard not to bring home a calico that Alana liked.   Chace and I went yard-saling this morning.  Of course, all we found were girl things, but I think  Chace enjoyed the peace and quiet in the car,  where he could play DS uninterrupted.  Here is Alana in her new Hello Kitty finery, with a new stroller and baby (her old one broke).
Okay,  this face was just too funny.  This is Alana's mad pouting face.  Hard not to laugh when she puts it on.  Of course, its better than her screaming and crying!
This is my only photo of Chace this week.  He just won't pose for the camera these days.  We are at McDonald's playing hookey.  Chace absolutely refused to go to school Thursday, but he went and had a good day on Friday.
Chace got this Bionicle spaceship? for his birthday.  He started it when he was sick with Strep,  so it took a couple days to build.  He did an awesome job, but wasn't happy with himself and wouldn't let me take a picture of it with him.  It actually came with 4 instruction manuals to build!

Go Away Monsters!

Alana likes to pretend that there are monsters lurking about, ready to scare her.  But no worries, she can scare them off herself now.  "Monsters, go away!"

Alana swinging

Alana has graduated to the big swing.  Of course, then our swing set broke.
Here she is "I go weeee!"

Busy Week

Alana playing bubbles with the neighbor.

Alana and her new friend at the park.

This has been a busy week for us.  Sunday Chace mopped around the house all day.  We thought it was just exhaustion from the party and sleepover,  but Sunday night he had nightmares all night and Monday woke up with Strep Throat.  By Tuesday he was feeling a lot better, but we let him stay home from school since he still hadn't eaten anything for over a day.  Wednesday Chace was back in school and Alana and I went to the park with a new friend, an almost 4-year-old, the granddaughter of one of my former co-workers at GTCC.  The girls had a blast at the park,  until we decided that it was too hot since they were turning bright red.  Then the neighbors came over to invite Chace and Alana to swim with them in their little pool.  Alana wouldn't get in until everyone else got bored with the pool and got out, and then she didn't want to get out!  Alana never got her nap, but I was the one that was exhausted by the end of the day.  Or it might have been the benadryl I took after getting bit twice! by a wasp at the park.  Glad I bought lots of sunscreen already, may need to buy more the way we went through it today!
